Dubai: New variable parking fees to apply at key venues from February 17
Parkin set to roll out Dh25 event-based parking charges

Dubai’s public parking operator, Parkin PJSC, has announced new event-based parking charges, effective from Saturday, February 17.
Under the revised structure, a Dh25 per hour tariff will apply in designated areas near major event venues, including Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
The change, officially confirmed by Parkin this week, is part of a congestion-management initiative aimed at reducing traffic around high-footfall locations during large-scale conferences, exhibitions, and concerts.
‘Grand Event Zone’
Parkin has specifically designated the area around DWTC as a ‘Grand Event Zone,’ where the Dh25 per hour rate will only be enforced during scheduled events.
To ease parking demand, the company has encouraged visitors to use public transport when travelling to event venues.
Tariff increases in other zones
This move follows a recent hike in parking fees across other areas of Dubai. On February 1, Parkin increased tariffs in Zone F, which includes Barsha Heights, Dubai Media City, and Dubai Internet City, while also extending paid parking hours from 8am to 10pm.
Premium parking spaces
In addition to event-specific pricing, Parkin plans to introduce ‘premium parking’ spaces by the end of March 2025. These high-demand spots will be available at transport hubs, central business districts, and major shopping destinations, providing motorists with more accessible parking options. Tariff details for premium parking will be available on Parkin’s digital platforms.
Variable Parking tariffs from March
From late March, Parkin will roll out a variable parking tariff system based on peak and off-peak hours:
Peak Hours (8am - 10am & 4pm - 8pm)
- Dh6 per hour for premium parking spaces
- Dh4 per hour for all other public parking areas
Off-Peak Hours (10am - 4pm & 8pm - 10pm)
- No changes to existing tariffs
Free Parking
- Overnight (10pm - 8am)
- All day on Sundays
Congestion pricing in Dubai
The event-based pricing model aligns with Dubai’s broader congestion management strategy, which includes variable Salik toll gate fees and revised public parking charges. The new rates coincide with major events such as Gulfood, scheduled to take place at DWTC from February 19.
Motorists attending events in Dubai are advised to check Parkin’s website or mobile app for real-time updates on parking fees and designated event zones.
